Congratulations to Mazda in producing the two millionth Mazda6!

2003mazda6-1The Mazda6 reached this milestone in the eight years and six months since production of the first generation Mazda6 commenced in February 2002 at Mazda’s Hofu Plant No. 2 in Yamaguchi prefecture. This achievement marks the second fastest time – after the Mazda3 – to produce two million units of one model since Mazda launched its new generation Zoom-Zoom product lineup in 2002.

The second generation Mazda6 launched in late 2008 as a 2009 model here in North America. This redesign saw the vehicle grow in size and power to better compete in the mid-size segment.  Proof that Mazda achieved this goal was the numerous awards earned like winning the Popular Mechanics Mid-Size Comparison Test earlier this year.

As the 2010 model year winds down, the Mazda6 is offered with 0% APR financing for 60 months combined with a $500 factory rebate! At Brown’s Chantilly Mazda we still have a great selection of 2010 Mazda6 and are anticipating the arrival of the new 2011 Mazda6 later this month.

Congratulations Mazda—here’s to two million more!

 11MZ2 (8)

The all-new 2011 Mazda2 was given the first workout by the guys over at Consumer Reports.  From their initial impressions, we can definitely see that they like the car!

Likes included the power from the 100hp engine, the packaging including interior cargo room, and the standard features like power windows, keyless entry, AM/FM/CD player with MP3 capability, and the price!

Of course, the dislikes were limited to things that are inherent in a subcompact car: interior road noise and backseat room.  Take a look at the video after the break…
